Everyone's plain throw. Catch them, then a direction picks front, back, up or down
R · Throw
Your fighter's own command throw: a suplex, a power bomb, a coin flip, a tail spin — one each, 53 of them
R from behind
BACK THROW. Get behind them and R fires a completely different ultra — 1.75× the damage, and there is no escape from it. One per fighter
Startup
4 frames of wind-up, then the grab is live for 8 frames. Whiff it and you are wide open
Break out
Caught from the front? You get 20 frames. The button to press is printed over your head: E, R or E+R. The wrong one locks you out
Counter-hit
A throw that catches you mid-move only gives 14 frames to break
Duck
Hold Down and no throw can touch you. Throw beats block, duck beats throw, hits beat duck
Clash
Two command throws on the same frame bounce off each other
How fights work
Down
Duck. Tap it on a soft platform to drop through, in the air to fall fast
Jump
Tap for a hop, hold for height. Everyone has two air jumps
Direction
Changes every attack and special (up, side, down, none)
Down + Attack
In the air: a down kick that spikes. Down-forward or down-back: a diagonal kick
Tap + hit
Direction and Attack together fire a smash
Shield on the hit
Parry: no pushback and you move first
Shield when you land
Tech: roll out of the knockdown instead of lying there
Shield + Attack
Grab, then a direction to throw. Holding an item, it throws the item (E does both too)
Shield + side
Roll past them
Attack + Special
Still works as the command throw, the same as R
Shield + Special
Heat Burst: an armoured strike that lights Heat for ten seconds (damage up, hits chip through guard). Press it again while lit for the Heat Smash. Past 100% with no Heat left it is your Rage Art, once per stock
Side Special
Your Heat Engager: land it with Heat unspent and it lights Heat with a dash to stay on them
Smashes
Power Crush: a charged smash ploughs through lighter hits while it swings
Ledge
Fall near the edge to hang on. Jump or Up climbs
Items
Attack picks one up. Attack again uses it. Q drops it (one button), E or Shield + Attack throws it
Guns
Hold Up or Down while you fire to aim: a direction as well makes it a 45° diagonal, Up or Down alone is steep
Shield + Up
Taunt — every fighter has their own
Moon Ball
Break it to charge your Final Smash, then press Special
Pad
A attack, B special, X/Y jump, LB grab, RB throw, triggers shield, right stick smash, L3 drops the item
Weapons and items
Bazooka
Rocket that explodes on contact, you too if you're close. Up/down tilts the aim. 3 shots
Shotgun
Five-pellet spread, strong up close. 4 shots
Machine gun
Fast bursts of bullets. 3 bursts
Sniper
Aim with the laser sight, one shot across the stage that goes through fighters. 2 shots
Banana bomb
Bounces, blows up, then five mini bananas scatter and blow up too
Holy bomb
Rare. Hangs in the air for a hallelujah, then a huge blast
TNT
Drop it, 45-second countdown, anyone can knock it around. Blows a hole in the stage
Grapple rope
Fire it up and forward, swing, up/down to reel, jump to let go. 4 uses
Jetpack
Hold jump in the air to fly, about 6 seconds of fuel
Supply crate
Parachutes in. Hit it open for a random item, or throw it
Bubble shield
Rare. Soaks the next 3 hits or 10 seconds, then pops
